Frozen Yogurt Bars

Do you ever just need a pick me up? Want that sweet treat that’s not too bad for you? Our daughter made these for us Sunday night. They were quick and easy and so yummy! It’s going to be summer before we know it and they would be a wonderful treat.

10 1/2 graham crackers broken into quarters

1/2 cup chopped banana

3 –  5.3 oz containers of greek yogurt with fruit – we used 2 Chobani strawberry and 1 Chobani blueberry

1 cup frozen whipped topping – we used one that was more “natural” than some others out there

Line 9 inch square or an 11 X 7 pan with foil that extends over sides. Arrange half the graham crackers on the bottom in rows.

Combine chopped banana, yogurt and whipped topping. Spread over grahams and top with remaining graham crackers.

Freeze 4 hours. Use foil “handles” to lift from pan. Cut between graham crackers into bars. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

  • 1 1/2 TBS beeswax
  • 1 TBS hokum butter
  • 1 TBS coconut butter
  • 3 TBS almond oil
  • 6-8 drops essential oil

Mel beeswax, kokum butter and coconut butter in a double boiler.  When almost melted, add almond oil. After completely melted, remove from heat and add essential oil.  Pour into containers and let set.

Sugar Scrub

Sugar Scrub

  • 1/2 cup sugar in a small bowl
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 10 drops of your favorite essential oil

Mix essential oil and olive oil. Add sugar and stir.  Pour into 4 oz. container.
To use place a small amount in the palm of your hand and scrub over moistened skin.  Rinse off in shower or tub.

Fresh Corn Bean Salsa

I hear this recipe was published some years ago in a Utah newspaper. Betty Jo McKinlay is the one who I believe submitted the recipe.  I’ve had it several times and the people making it have added 1-2 drops of  Lime Essential Oil. If using the essential oil, make sure it’s a grade that is safe to ingest.  Contact us for information on getting Lime Essential Oil! This is so yummy!

Yield: 15-20 servings

  • 2 cans black beans, drained, rinsed
  • 2 large cans corn, drained
  • 12 Roma tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 small cans diced green chiles, medium or mild
  • 1 large bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 large purple onion, finely chopped
  • 5 limes
  • 1-2 drops Lime essential oil

Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl. Squeeze lime juice over bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly and chill in refrigerator. Serve with tortilla chips.

Relaxing Bubble Bath

  • 1/2 cup of Unscented Liquid Castile Soap
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Raw Honey to moisturize and cleanse the skin
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 15-20 drops of your Favorite Essential Oil (Balance & Lavender, Wild Orange & Lavender, Peppermint)
  • 16 oz Glass Jar
